This week’s pick: previously featured Octalysis gamification framework. This has been my go-to resource for years to simply deconstruct and evaluate real-life service and digital user experiences. During experience design (UX research, ideation, and design) efforts you’ll definitely encounter user pain points around tasks that are painful to accomplish. Gamification is usually one of the answers to such touchpoint enhancement. And so frameworks like these are essential in connecting the dots, proposing new ways of doing things, and communicating the underlying solution to the stakeholders.
Featured gamification examples in the real-life products/services: Facebook, Twitter and Diablo 3.
The former being a fully packed gamified experience. You can find more about this framework and its use cases here.
Note: we’re not affiliated with the tool makers. It’s just a great UX tool you should know about. In this new weekly UX design, user research and product design tools series I’ll share some of the best picks I’ve encountered to date. You’ll find out about the best apps, extensions, websites and other helpful tools.
